Spiritual Significance & History

Mani Parvat is a 65-foot hillock with deep roots in both the Ramayana epic and ancient Indian history. According to sacred tradition, while Lord Hanuman was carrying the Dronagiri mountain with the Sanjeevani herb to Lanka, a portion dropped here.

The summit offers a 360-degree panoramic vista of Ayodhya and the green floodplains of the Saryu. During Sawan Jhula Mela, deity vigrahas from all major temples are brought atop in decorated swings.

Essential Tips for Devotees

  • Climb the gentle stone staircase in early morning to catch the golden sunrise over Ayodhya.
  • Combine with nearby Sugriv Parvat and Kuver Tila for a peaceful heritage morning walk.
  • Carry drinking water, as facilities atop the hillock are minimal.
