Kanak Bhawan ('Golden Palace') is one of Ayodhya's most ornate temples, associated with Queen Kaikeyi's gift to Sita. The shrine features gold-crowned idols of Lord Rama and Goddess Sita and is a highlight of the Ram Path parikrama.

Regular darshan timings are usually 8 AM-12 PM and 4-9 PM, with a midday bhog break. Sandhya aarti around 6:30 PM is the most popular visit window; confirm locally during festivals when hours may extend.

Pilgrim tips

  • Best photographed in morning light; queues are shorter before 9 AM.
  • Don't miss Sawan Jhula Mela (Jul–Aug) when jhula decorations are at their peak.
  • Walking from Ram Mandir takes about 10 minutes via Ram Path.
