Ram Ki Paidi is Ayodhya's most photographed ghat - a stepped embankment along the sacred Saryu where pilgrims take holy dips and gather for the evening aarti. It is the centrepiece of Deepotsav when millions of diyas line the riverfront.
The ghat is walkable from the temple corridor (about 20–25 minutes) or a short e-rickshaw ride. Arrive 45–60 minutes before sunset for a good viewing spot during festivals.
Visitor tips
- Evening aarti typically around 6:30 PM (IST); confirm locally in winter when sunset is earlier.
- Wear modest clothing; carry a change of clothes if you plan snan at the ghat.
- Deepotsav (Oct–Nov) draws huge crowds - plan transport and stay months ahead.
