1.2 km from Ram Mandir5:00 AM – 10:00 PM

Hanuman Garhi is a fortified hilltop temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman, traditionally visited before Ram Mandir darshan. Pilgrims climb 76 steps to the inner sanctum where Hanuman is depicted as a child protecting Ayodhya.

The temple is especially crowded on Tuesdays and Hanuman Jayanti. Early morning visits (before 8 AM) are most comfortable.

Pilgrim tips

  • Wear comfortable shoes - you will remove them at the top but the climb is steep.
  • Combine with Kanak Bhawan and Ram Mandir in one morning circuit on foot.
  • Sindoor offerings are common; prasad is available at the base of the hill.
