1.5 km from Ram MandirAll day · Aarti evenings
The Saryu (Sarayu) river is central to Ayodhya's spiritual identity - Lord Rama is believed to have taken Jal Samadhi here. Ghats along the river host morning snan, sandhya aarti, and festival gatherings year-round.
Kartik Purnima (November) sees lakhs of pilgrims bathing at dawn. The riverfront has been upgraded with wider promenades as part of Ayodhya's redevelopment.
Visitor tips
- Sunrise snan is considered most auspicious; carry a towel and dry clothes in a small bag.
- Combine Saryu aarti with dinner at nearby sattvic thali houses on Ram Path.
- Guptar Ghat (8 km) is a quieter alternative linked to Rama's Jal Samadhi.
