Naya Ghat is the newest and most expansive ghat along the Saryu riverfront, purpose-built to host the world-famous Deepotsav celebrations. Each year during Diwali, this ghat sees the lighting of lakhs of diyas, creating a spectacular display that has earned Guinness World Record recognition.
The ghat features wide steps, modern lighting, and ample space for large gatherings. During Deepotsav, cultural programs, laser shows, and traditional dance performances take place here, attracting visitors from across India and abroad.
Visitor tips
- Deepotsav bookings open weeks in advance - reserve accommodation early if visiting during Diwali.
- Evening hours (6–8 PM) offer the best views with illuminated ghats and aarti ceremonies.
- Combine your visit with Ram Ki Paidi (nearby) for a complete riverfront experience.
